Church, Shopping, and Game 4

Today (Sunday) we were able to bring our team to worship at a local Filipino church. Pastor Better Labuca shared a message on Philippians 2, which was a great reminder to do all things without grumbling and complaining. This meant a lot to our team as we are about to head out to remote areas to play for the next five days. We will spend a lot of time in the sun, playing hoops, and traveling many hours each day through rough terrain. It will be very easy for us to get tired and start complaining. Please pray for us as we go through the most difficult time of the trip.

After church we headed to the local market for the boys to pick up some souvenirs for the friends and their families. They had a great time experiencing the culture and negotiating lower prices with the shop owners.

Our last event of the day was our final Manila game at Barangay Quirino. As soon as the ball was tipped we knew we were in for a track meet. Each team pushed the ball up the floor and shot a high percentage from the field. With a strong last five minutes we prevailed with a 124-108 victory. Most importantly we were able to share the Gospel with the locals and interact with some fellow Believers. Please pray for the people of Brgy Quirino and those who took interest in the Good News.

In the morning we will jump on an early flight and will be updating you tomorrow from the southern Philippines. Thanks for all your prayers.

Ball Hog Running Count: 255 + 124 = 379
